Feel the beat converge in Pulse Core, a radial rhythm game you can play free in your browser — no download required. A glowing Pulse Core sits at the centre of the screen inside a hit-ring, and note markers fly inward from four directions — up, right, down, and left. Your job is to tap the matching side the instant each note crosses the ring. Nail the timing for a PERFECT or GOOD hit to restore your Sync energy and keep the run alive; miss, and Sync drains toward zero. There's no finish line: clearing a phase always escalates into a faster, denser one, so the track only ends when your Sync bar empties. Every fourth clean hit ticks your combo multiplier up, and since score is base points times combo, staying flawless matters more than chasing perfection on any single note. From the fourth phase onward, hold notes join the mix — tap the head and keep the direction held through its sustain. Each run banks Echo currency toward the Echo Studio, where five permanent upgrades boost your starting Sync, widen the timing window, multiply Echo income, add miss-absorbing shields, and ease the opening tempo so every new run starts stronger. Pure reaction, endless escalation, one-finger friendly.
How to play
Desktop: press the arrow keys, WASD, or F/J/K/L to hit the up, right, down, and left notes — time each key-press to the moment the note touches the ring, and hold the key for long notes. Space or Enter starts and restarts. Mobile: tap the side of the screen a note is arriving from with a single finger (the tap's angle maps to the nearest direction), and hold for long notes; the core stays centred so it's never under your thumb. Tips: (1) Never miss over never-perfect — a miss resets your combo and costs 10 Sync, about five GOOD hits' worth of healing, so clean survival beats greedy timing. (2) PERFECT hits heal more than GOOD ones, so tighten your timing in later dense phases where double-note spawns appear. (3) Spend early Echo on Miss Shields and the Wide Window upgrade — shields cancel a miss outright and a wider window keeps your timing forgiving as the notes speed up.
